Obituary of Carey Lynn Pankey

Pankey, Carey L Saginaw Michigan Passed away peacefully at home on April 6,2022 at the age of 71. She was born in Saginaw Michigan on September 5, 1950 to the late Elden C. Graves and Betty Lou Brethauer. She worked in the Saginaw Public School where she was a Lunch Lady, and Recess Supervisor, retiring after many years of service. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, the outdoors, going to the casino, spending time with all of her grandchildren, and getting together with her ladies’ club. She is survived by a son, Charles Elden Pankey (Sophia Jimenez); a daughter, Ilene Nichole Pankey, grandchildren, Crysta Alexandra Nichole Pankey, Samantha Goya Krease, Xavier Benito Jimenez, Adalyn Raye Clark-Pankey, and Alayna Cadence Clark-Pankey; 2 brothers, Glen (Linda) Graves and Russell (Caroline) Graves of California; a sister, Connie (Tom) Calligaro; a sister-in-law, Karen Graves; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Maria) Pankey of Nevada; many neices and nephews; close friends and neighbors; and the entire Banda Family, especially Jesus and Maria, with whom she would often at the kitchen table and have conversations. She was preceded in death by her husband; Paul H. Pankey; step-father, Harold Eurick; mother-in-law, Marilyn Pankey; and brother, Timothy Graves. At Carey’s request, no funeral service will be held, however, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
