Obituary of Arvid Kurt Mauritzson

Arvid Kurt Mauritzson “Harvey”, age 80, was born on July 18, 1941. He was surrounded by family in the comfort of his own home when he went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2022 at 7:11 P.M. He married Janice October 3, 1962 and she survives him. Arvid grew up in Bristol, South Dakota with his parents and 10 siblings, moving to Michigan with Janice in December of 1962. He was an active member of the UAW and retired from General Motors Truck and Bus after 30 years of service. He enjoyed working on trucks, traveling, BINGO, the casino, wood working, and loved being around his family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and maintained it all the way to the end. He was a jokester and that combined with his sense of humor, impacted many lives. He is survived by his beloved and loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Janice (Sykora) Mauritzson; his children, Kurt (Trish) Mauritzson and Shawn (Frank) Boguth; grandchildren, Felisha (Michael) Mylonakis, Amber (Mike) Frame, Jayden Boguth, and Katelyn, Justin, & Logan Mlujeak; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Blake, and Carson; siblings, Joann (Don) Tobin, Sonja (Dean) Emmen, Karin (Jens) Fink, Ronnie Mauritzson, Kathy Mauritzson, Randy Mauritzson, Mark Mauritzson, and Joe Mauritzson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burt and Millie Mauritzson; his sister, Shirley Jones; his brother, John Mauritzson; and sister-in-law, Audrey Mauritzson. The family would like to express their thanks to all of the staff of Wellspring Lutheran services. Harvey will be truly missed by many. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com
