Bonnie Young

Obituary of Bonnie Jean Young

Bonnie J. Young, age 97 passed away at home with her son by her side on April 12, 2022. Bonnie was born in Midland Michigan on October 10,1924 to the late Ruby and Rufus Park. Bonnie loved to get outside when Spring arrived to see her spring flowers bloom. Even though she had not been able to walk for quite sometime, she did not let that stop her from doing whatever she wanted to do. Following her graduation from Midland High School in 1942, she became employed at Dow Chemical, and then in later years was employed as a credit manager with Sears in Midland, retiring from there in June of 1993. Bonnie is survived by her children, Sandy (Gary) Strauss, Bill Young, and Pat (Larry) Schulz; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and two very special friends that she loved dearly, Sheila and Chuck Roberts. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband, Hank Young, and their infant son, Gale Young. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Grace Hospice for their loving and supportive care of Bonnie and her children over the last few weeks. Per Bonnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and her cremains will be placed with her husband’s at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan with a private family service taking place. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice.
