Obituary of Christopher George Mossner
Christopher G. Mossner, age 56, of Vassar, formerly of Gilford and Fairgrove passed away on Saturday April 16, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is now resting in the presence of Jesus.
Chris grew up in Fairgrove on the family farm with his parents and 7 brothers and sisters. Through the years, he worked for several farmers as a farm hand and truck driver, most recently with Bauer Farms and Schmandt Farms. In his younger years, he enjoyed attending and participating in tractor pulls. He was also well known in the area for his participation in truck demolition derby’s.
Chris is survived by his siblings, Gerald Mossner (Denise Nettleton) of Saginaw, Lenora (Brian) Steinley of Fairgrove, Carol (Mike) Schnell of Vassar, Michael Mossner of Fairgrove, and Charles (Lena) Mossner of Caro; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend who stood by his side. He will be missed by his faithful Chihuahua, Sparky. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lillian Mossner; sister, Janie Arnott; brother, Kenneth Mossner; and niece, Rochelle Putman.
In keeping with Chris’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, April 26, 2022, at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 3455 S. VanBuren Road, Richville, Michigan 48734. The family will be present to receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
