Obituary of Mary E. McCaskey

McCaskey, Mary E. Toledo, OH After an exceedingly well-lived life, Mary McCaskey, age 90, passed away under the loving care of her daughters and granddaughters, and surrounded by family at home on May 30, 2022. She was born on April 2, 1932. Mary was married to Richard McCaskey, who died on June 21, 1988. Mary was a registered nurse who practiced for 62 years before her retirement in 2014. She graduated from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 with a diploma in nursing. In 1992, at the age of 60, she returned to college at Lourdes University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996. She retired from nursing 3 times; first, Bixby Hospital (Adrian, MI), then Medical College Hospital (Toledo, OH), and finally from the University of Michigan Medical System (Ann Arbor, MI). Mary loved to travel and especially treasured spending time with her family on Maui. Her great-grandbabies and grand children were the apples of her eye, and when she could travel with the young ones, she was most content. She will be greatly missed. Mary is survived by her children, Diane Knoblauch (Jeffrey Stewart), Denise McCaskey, R. David (Lisa) McCaskey, and Dale (Marjorie) McCaskey; 11 grandchildren; and 19 ½ great-grandbabies. At her request, there will be no funeral or memorial services, however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
