Blanche Mulchi, age 68, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, with her daughter holding her hand. She passed away after a short battle with metastatic cancer. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 26, 1953, to the late Joseph and Nettie Persky. Blanche married Josie Mulchi who predeceased her. Together they raised their only child, Melinda, together.
Her love of animals led her to move to Gladwin, Michigan to live on her brother’s farm (late Joseph Persky, Jr). Her extraordinary talent was taking care of animals. She could nurse the sickest animal back to health and always had a home full of pets. Blanche was strong-willed, independent, outspoken, and direct. Those attributes served her well in a variety of jobs, including working at a car wash, fixing lawn mowers, and being a waitress. In addition to her love of animals, she enjoyed camping, reading, fishing, bingo, slot machines, her backyard flowers, and birds.
Blanche will be missed by her daughter, Melinda Clemons (Andre); grandchildren, Desiree Clemons and Drake Clemons; brother, Paul Persky; sister, Elizabeth Burnett; and partner and best friend, David Rose. She will also be missed by a host of friends, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
To honor her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held from 1 pm – 3 pm, Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Mr. M’s Pizza & Lounge, 139 W. Cedar Ave, Gladwin, MI 48624.
