Marilyn Masica

Obituary of Marilyn Jean Masica

Masica, Marilyn Jean “Jeanie” (Callahan), age 82, of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on June 23, 2022.

Jeanie was born January 30,1940 in Saginaw Michigan to the late Frank and Ann Callahan. Jeanie was a talented china painter and enjoyed many other fine arts. Family, friends and even strangers could not help but notice her big Irish smile and quick-witted sense of humor. She preferred to laugh, rather than cry, even in the hardest of times. She always had such great faith in every situation, even the toughest. She was such an extremely generous person and would always extend her heart to friends and strangers alike. Most importantly, she loved our Lord God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”  Even in the face of life’s toughest obstacles, Jeanie was still and always knew her God.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas Masica; a daughter, Jamie (Patrick) Riffel; a son, Mark (Megan) Masica; grandchildren, Victoria (Nick) Ross, Evan and Ian Riffel, Christian Masica, Megan (Adam) Tompa; great grandchildren Max, Penelope and Ezra; sister, Janet (Rick) Helmer; brothers, Bob (Laura) and Pat Callahan; many nieces, nephews and friends, whom she loved deeply. She was predeceased by siblings, Mike, Ron, Frank (Pat), David, and John (Ruth) Callahan.

A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to one of Jeanie’s favorite charities, Right to Life or the Saginaw Downtown Rescue Mission.

The family extends a special thank you to the loving caregivers at HealthSource Saginaw for taking great care of Marilyn “Jeanie” the past five years.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com   Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan
