Obituary of Barbara Ann Kelly

Barbara Ann (Johnson) Kelly, age 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare. Barbara was born on April 28,1938 in Saginaw, Michigan to Lewis and Cecelia Johnson. She married James E. Kelly on July 21,1956; he survives her.  

Left to cherish her memory, along with her husband Jim, are daughters Kimberly (Fred) Stadler, Freeland, Lori (Joseph) Walters, Saginaw; daughter-in-law, Barbara Kelly, Saginaw; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters Joanne (Howard) Maturen, Mary Lou Krueger, Margaret (Russ) Morgan; sisters-in-law, Shirley Mason and Colleen Kelly; and brother-in-law Mike (Mary) Kelly. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her two sons, Craig Kelly and Todd Kelly; parents; sister Dotty Schafer; brother Bill Johnson; and brothers-in-law, Stretch Mason, Arold Schafer, and Jim Krueger.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022,  at St. Dominic Catholic Church - SS Peter and Paul Campus  4375 W. Michigan Ave. Visitation at the church will begin at 10:00 a.m until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Father Jack Johnson will officiate. 

Barb retired from Covenant HealthCare. She enjoyed shopping and never dropping with her best friend and partner in crime, Shirley. She remembered everyone she ever met. Barb loved to laugh and lived to love. She was known for her warm hugs and kisses. Barb loved playing cards, getting her hair done, all kinds of parties, and most of all being with her family. Her deep Catholic faith carried her through all of life's ups and downs. She will be forever missed.
