Phyllis “Jean” Stedry

Phyllis (Jean), loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at Edgewood Assisted Living Center at the age of 88 years old. The daughter of the late Frank W. Comisky was born on July 16, 1934 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. 

Upon graduating from Hemlock High School, she worked at Malleable Iron where she met her late husband, Vence Stedry. After starting their family, she took pride in staying home to raise her children. Jean enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking, athletics -both spectating and competing herself, and spending time with her family. She had an infectious personality, and could put a smile on your face in seconds. 

Surviving are her children: Vence Stedry (Bob), Kim Hegler, Scott (Carrie) Stedry, Mary (Joe) Menard, grandchildren: Brook (Brian) Rehmann, Melissa (Joe) Parks, Chris (Theresa) Tompa, Adam (Megan) Tompa, Jeremy (Jenna) Stedry, Kara (Travis) Galbraith, Zach Stedry, Mitchell Menard, and Jared Menard, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Vence, daughter Glory Stedry, sisters, Audrey Eldred and Gloria Comisky, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. 

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Jean's family will hold a private memorial gathering at a later date.
