Near, Eleanor “Ellie” Jean 

Saginaw, MI

Ellie passed away on September 18, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born in Caro Michigan, March 8, 1938 to the late Claude and Bessie (Fischer) Allen.  She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School and worked for Second National Bank for over 40 years.  More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but also enjoyed reading, working in her yard, and was an avid euchre player where she met a lot of special people. She enjoyed going to Shipshewana with her sisters-in-law, whom she considered as sisters. 

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Jenny) Near; her grandson, Alexander (Kristin) Kaiser; special friends, Ann Johnson and Carol Schaeding; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Cathy Near; brother, Bill Allen; niece, Tammy Sosolik; and sister, Ruth Snedeker.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 12 Noon, November 6, 2022 at Hill's Tavern, 7304 Gratiot Road, Saginaw MI 48609. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
