Obituary of Jon Kellie Carter

Jon K. Carter, age 61, of Prescott, MI, formerly of Lakeville and Mt. Clemens, Michigan, passed away December 5, 2022 after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born March 3, 1961 to the late William and Leona Carter in Mt. Clemens. He was a currently a member of the Eastern Arenac Sportsmen’s Club, the NRA, and former member of National Ski Patrol at Pine Knob in Clarkston, MI. He enjoyed working with wood and metal, creating numerous fine furniture items, and actively was contracting as machine builder/installer for automotive automation companies around the country. He also engaged in handyman servicing for friends and acquaintances, being skilled in home construction, remodeling, virtually all repairs, plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, painting, maintenance, harvesting lumber from various species of trees he cut down, and old machine rebuilding. A lot of his leisure time was spent on the water, knee boarding in Lakeville Lake, canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting with his nephews and neighbors. He also enjoyed touring on this Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and downhill skiing in Michigan, out east and out west. He is survived by brothers, Mark (Lori) Carter of Lake Orion and Chris Carter of Rose City, MI; nephews, Matthew (Deidra) Carter of Lacey Springs, AL and Micah Carter of Lake Orion; and great-nephews, Lucas, Magnus, and Titus Carter of Lacey Springs; as well as aunts, and numerous cousins.
