Obituary of Patricia Ann Torrey

Patricia Ann Crosby Torrey, age 82, passed away on December 6, 2022 after a long courageous battle with lymphoma. She was born August 17, 1940, to the late Susie and Harmon Crosby. Her mother remarried Leo Brown when Harmon passed away during Patricia's childhood. ‘Patty’ was a familiar fixture at Zehnders of Frankenmuth, having tended bar there for almost 50 years – her illness forced her to retire just a year or so before reaching that milestone. She loved her family, friends, playing the slot machines, was the life of every party, and in later years going to her “favorite store” (Goodwill) with Margaret and food. The family joke is that she wouldn’t even be finished with breakfast before asking what was to eat at lunch and dinner!

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Shelley Torrey; son, Darrin Torrey; niece, advocate, caregiver and daughter of her heart, Judy (Brian) Passon; one brother, Charles; loving friends, Beth & Jay Gorman, Taylor & Eli Hittle, Luella Buchinger, and Margaret McCormick; dear customers and co-workers from Zehnders; grandcats, Figgy and Penny; as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation, however, a Celebration of Life will be held after the first of the year.  Complete details will be posted in the Frankenmuth paper.
