Obituary of Carl Edward Torres

Carl Edward Torres, age 82 of Midland, Michigan passed away in the early afternoon hours of December 26, 2022. He was born on July 18,1940 to the late Carl and June Torres in Midland.

Ed retired from Dow Chemical in 1997, after working there for 25 years.  While at Dow he worked in several areas including Security, and Plant Manager of Research and Development area.

He was a 1964 graduate of Michigan State University, and he loved his MSU Spartans. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.  He was especially fond of traveling with his late wife Lloya to Las Vegas, Alaska, and the Bahamas.  If you had ever met Ed, you were a better person because of it, as he always had a great story and some wisdom to share. He was loved by many as he was a very selfless man.

He is survived by his son, Steve (Amy) Torres; grandchildren, Kenadee Torres and Macy Doster; and brother, Bill (Riva) Torres.  In December of 2021, he was preceded in death by Lloya, his wife of 58 years.  The family has chosen to have a small private gathering to celebrate Ed’s life.   In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Toni & Trish Hospice House, 4699 Eleven Mile Rd.
