Obituary of Kevin Michael O'Dell

Kevin M. O’Dell, age 60, of Tawas City, passed away peacefully Monday, January 2, 2023 at My Michigan Medical Center - West Branch.  Kevin was born November 13, 1962 in Tawas, Michigan to Walter and Ruth (Blust) O’Dell. He attended Tawas Area Schools, where he received his high school diploma and later served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a longtime member of the Elks lodge #2525, and in his spare time, Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, watching U of M and Detroit Lions football, and spending time on his property with Sue and his faithful companion Grizz.

 

He loved his family dearly and enjoyed their visits. Kevin was a loving husband, as well as a loyal father, brother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all.

 

Kevin is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susanne “Sue”, who will love him forever; son, Brendon (Gwen) O’Dell; special nephew, Kasey (Megan) Younge; grandchildren, Emma, Jillian, Alaya, Jackson, and Madison; parents, Walter (Janice) O’Dell, and Ruth (Kent) Kerwin; siblings, Lavonne (Dennis) Hipps, Hollly Lambert, Deana Kerwin, Rob Kerwin, and Gregory (Michelle) O’Dell; mother-in-law, Benthe “Ben” McKay; sister-in-law, Diane Kuch; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by by his grandparents, Richard and Kate Blust; a brother, Eric O’Dell; brother-in-law, Steven Rostgaard; sister-in-law, Loraine Neilson; and many aunts and uncles. Honoring Kevin’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held in the spring.
