Obituary of Bonnie Belle Hamilton
Please share a memory of Bonnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bonnie, who was 90 years young, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. She was born September 27,1932, to the late James and Irene Blake in Frisco, Missouri.
Bonnie was a 1950 graduate of Flint Beecher High School and would still cheer, “Go Bucs!” when she heard the name or if the sports teams were in the playoffs. She held many jobs over the years, mostly secretarial in nature but her favorite was being a “homeroom mother” for her kids’ classes.
She was a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge for many years and enjoyed throwing bean bags and listening to the live music. She also loved line dancing, painting, reading and finding bargains at garage sales. She was active with bowling and golfing until her bionic shoulder wore out. She loved to continue to beat her kids and grandkids at scrabble and boggle well into her 80s. If you knew Bonnie, then you heard all about her children and grandchildren. She loved to show pictures and tell all about their accomplishments.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Tew of Lancaster, CA, and Danita Tatum-Cocking (Terry) of Grand Blanc MI; step-daughter, Michelle Havely (Charles) of Brighton, MI; grandsons, James Tew (April) of Rosamund, CA, Anthony Tew (Wendy) of Castaic, CA, Aaron Tew of Lancaster, CA, and Ryland Lambert of Grand Blanc, MI; granddaughters, Tatum Lambert of Grand Blanc and Isabella Havely of Brighton, MI; and 4 beautiful great-grand daughters.
She is also survived by her loving husband of the last 20 years, Franklin Hamilton of Fruitland Park, FL and formerly of Harrison, MI. Bonnie and Frank made the most of their “Golden Years” by traveling around the states, taking several cruises and a trip to Europe.
She was predeceased by her sister, June Lynn; brother, James Blake; son, Danny DuBois; step-daughter, Mary Hamilton; and life-long best friend, Doris Taylor-Bissel.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer, in time for the snow-birds to attend.
