Mary Ellen (Griffith) Linton, 78 of Marlette, MI passed away on January 24,, 2023 at Covenant Harrison Hospital in Saginaw Michigan with her children by her side. She was born on April 3, 1944 in Ionia County, Michigan to the late Albert and Ellen (Larson) Griffith. She graduated from Midland High School in 1962 and attended Delta College where she met Kenneth Harold Linton. They wed on August 14th, 1965 and were married for over 51 years. They eventually settled and raised their family in Marlette, MI where she was a resident for 43 years. Mary Ellen was a homemaker and cared for her children. A member of the Marlette First Church for over 40 years, she was also a teacher/director for their preschool program for many years. She loved being a preschool teacher, but especially being able to see the children throughout the years as they grew up. Mary Ellen was a member of the GFWC and the UMW Women's Clubs of Marlette and was proud of their philanthropic work for others.
Mary Ellen was survived by her children Michael Linton of Saginaw, MI; Amy Linton of Davison, MI; and Kayla Linton of Saginaw, MI. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bonnie Griffith of Palm Bay, FL; brother-in-law Glen Linton of Hemlock MI; sister in-law Barb (Linton) and Wayne Russell of Sandusky, MI; brother-in-law Jim and Ila Linton of Warsaw, IN; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Linton and parents Albert and Ellen Griffith, brother Roger Griffith, aunt and uncle Milton and Marion Berg, cousin Marye Lynn Lepo, nephew Graig Griffith, brother-in-law Joseph Linton, sister-in-law Beth Linton, and in-laws Bertha and Thurman Linton. Mary Ellen was cremated through The Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan and a future memorial service is being planned for the spring.
