67 years ago, Red married the love of his life Barbara Dittmar. Barbara was blessed with the most kind, loving, and devoted husband, who also had a sense of humor to remember. He loved his family and the Lord.
Red passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Age 88 years. Albert was born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Albert and Mary Hilbrandt. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Bill (Chris) Hilbrandt, Vivienne (Bob) Jaynes, and Jennifer Hilbrandt; brothers, John (Shirley) and Warren Hilbrandt; brother-in-law, Bob Gerzeski; sister-in-law, Mary Dittmar; and a son, Dave.
Red had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special grandchildren that always cared and appreciated every moment with their grandfather are Nicole, Aleah and Alex. Great-grandchildren Kempton, Ariyah and Raelynn. His four legged sidekick Cassie and many grand dogs.
Red retired at age 53, built a home and incredible life at Higgins Lake. His days were filled with taking his children and grandchildren to the lake, on trips to the Great Smoky Mountains, hiking, and helping others. He often spoke of his incredible 250 mile canoe adventure with the Boy Scouts to Boundary Waters. Red became a Master Wood Craver with many award winning pieces. He enjoyed golfing daily and spending quality time with his family. He will be dearly missed. Red put his heart and soul into everything he did.
Red was predeceased by mother-in-law, Ellen Dittmar; a brother, Bill; sisters, Marilyn and Elizabeth; sisters-in-law, Diane and Maxine; and brothers-in-law, Frederick and Bob.
