Obituary of Margaret Ann Gouine

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Margaret Ann Gouine passed away with family by her side on Friday, January 27, at 6:55pm, one month shy of her 95th birthday.  She was born February 24, 1928, to Elmer and Amelia (Brandt) Delamarter.

Margaret attended Cheboygan High School and graduated in 1945.  As a senior, she worked at the draft board.  After graduation from high school, she attended Bay City Business College.  While in college she worked in a shoe store as an office assistant.  Following college, Margaret worked at the Cheboygan Paper Mill until they closed.  She then worked at Cheboygan Area Schools for thirty years as a secretary to five superintendents.

She married Raymond George Woiderski on May 16, 1949.  They had a son, Larry Allen Woiderski.  She and Ray divorced, and Margaret was a single mother for many years.

She married Lloyd Bernard Gouine on May 3, 1963.  They were married 33 years until Lloyd passed away in 1997.

Margaret was known for her generosity, baking cookies, and playing cards with family and friends.  She and Lloyd loved Christmastime and visiting with community members who came to get a Christmas tree from their farm.  She gave generously in support of educational endeavors.  She loved to host Sunday roast beef dinners at her home and always had chocolate kisses and homemade cookies & crackers for whomever stopped by to say hello.

Margaret is survived by her son, Larry (Cynthia) Woiderski, granddaughters Kristina Andreotta and Jessica (Corey) Woiderski-Cooper, great-grandson John-Luke Andreotta, stepdaughter Dolores LeBlanc and her family, and stepdaughter Carol Smallwood and her family.  She is also survived by her sister, Jean Brewster, nieces Carolyn Scheele and Dawn Ewald, two sisters-in-law, and nine step grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and two sons-in-law.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, February 2, 2023  at 11:00am.  The service will be held at St. Thomas Lutheran Church at 332 S.
