Passed away on Thursday, February 2nd at the age of 83 years. He was born on December 17, 1939 to the late Dale Rexford Shouey and Audrey Mae (Allison) Shouey in Mt Pleasant, Michigan.
He was a member of The Northside Church of Christ in Fort Wayne, Indiana
He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family, ministering to shut-ins, teaching bible classes in the local church, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was active in the local church wherever he resided. Formerly an elder of the Saginaw Bay Church of Christ, Pastor for the TriCity Christian Church, and an encourager and teacher of the scriptures at The Golden Years Retirement Community in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was also instrumental in helping to fund the 2/42 Community Church Saginaw Campus through the generous financial participation of the members of TriCity Christian Church.
He is survived by son Aaron Shouey (Judy Shouey) of Saginaw Michigan, son Jared Shouey (Angela Shouey) of Rockford Michigan, daughter Sarah Powell (Kurt Powell) of Fort Wayne Indiana and daughter-in-law Paula Shouey of Quincy Illinois. Grandchildren Conner, Carson, Corbin, and Cambell Powell, Jenna, Adam, and Jesse Shouey, Matthew Shouey, Connor and Isaac Henrickson, Tyler, Kayla, Rachel, and Caden Shouey, Breanna and Kolby Simmons. Siblings Kathy Russel of Clare Michigan, Jacqueline Jemes of Tucson Arizona, Lorraine Shouey of Mobile Alabama. Many beloved brothers and sisters in law including nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Eileen (King) Shouey, brother Phillip Shouey, son Matthew Shouey, and grandson Andrew John Shouey
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 18th starting 11am at 2/42 Community Church, 2303 Amelith Rd, Bay City, MI 48706 with his children officiating. Please bring your memories and stories to share with the family as there will be space in the service for sharing publicly. Luncheon to follow.
