Obituary of Duane A. Miller

Duane Arthur Miller, age 66, of Wheeler, Michigan (formerly of St. Charles, Michigan), passed away peacefully on February 9, 2023, with loved ones by his side.  Duane was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 19, 1956 to the late Arthur & Cecile (Luark) Miller.

He spent his childhood on his family's property being a prankster with his siblings.  He also spent endless hours and weeks creating the pond and trails that his children and grandchildren enjoyed year-round.  He learned to operate the crane with his father that provided a lot of the gravel for M-52.  There were many family gatherings and many memories made around that pond.  Other than when he was at the pond, he would wear jeans, regardless of the temperature, even in 100-degree weather.  At any family gathering, he gave everyone a hug as he left. This and many others reasons are why he will be missed.   

In 1987 he married Margaret and together they shared many adventures. It was Duane's passion to research family genealogy. They would spend hours visiting libraries, cemeteries, and museums around Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana to assemble a detailed family tree that spans generations. In his last selfless act on earth, Duane was an organ donor.

He is survived by wife, Margaret Miller; children, Jenny Miller, Christopher Miller, April (Chris) Keating, Jason (Marissa) Miller, Evelyn (Bill) Gager, Adam (Jamie) DeLoe, and KatieAnne (Kirk) Evans; 23 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shelby (Jay) Denter, Denise (Dan) McPherson, Lorray (Bill) Platt, Gaelyn Fisher, Maria Miller, and Steve Smith; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Janet Thomas and Rondi Smith; brothers, Arthur Miller and Cecil Fisher.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, February 25, 2023, at the Wheeler Township Hall, 8510 E.
