Obituary of Jacquelyn Diane Davis

Jacquelyn Diane (Burt) Davis, age 75, of Lansing MI passed away on February 10, 2023 after a long heartbreaking period of physical and mental decline inflicted on her by Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born in Lansing Michigan, June 12, 1947, to the late Gerald R. and JoAn Y (McCoy) Burt., and was the eldest of four siblings.  Jackie touched many lives through her career as a beautician in the Lansing area for over 45 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, dancing, playing cards, camping and fishing at Round Lake in Mecosta, Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Kevin (Dana) Davis, of Hampshire TN, and Kristin (Ed) Bond of Shepherd MI; grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica and Amelia Davis, and Kelsey Yates; sisters, Sue Bedell of Lansing MI, and Cathy Malone of Detroit MI; bonus sisters, Karen Brooks, Nancy Clark and Chris Burt; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and great-neices and nephews. She also held a special place in her heart for her bonus family – the Mendozas. She was predeceased by her lifelong partner, Merejildo (Nick) Mendoza; her brother, Terry Burt; and her  lifelong best friend, Nancy Walker.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
