Carolyn went peacefully to be with the Lord, on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the age of 83 at Comfort Care Memory Unit in Shields, Michigan.  The family wishes to thank Comfort Care and Harmony House Hospice for the wonderful care that was given.

She was born on December 15, 1939 to the late Albert and Maxine (Evans) Gibson in McGuffey, Ohio.

She has served the Lord sincerely and was an active member of several churches in her lifetime including Community Baptist Church of Saginaw and Church of the Gentle Shepherd in Six Lakes, Michigan.

She enjoyed spending time with her late husband and her family, loved gardening and bird watching. She also had several pet dogs and cats throughout her lifetime and loved them dearly.  She also loved to travel and camp and went on several trips throughout her life either by motorcycle, or by camper.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Mary Loyd, Detroit, Michigan and Leonard (Kristin) Fowler Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan; Carolyn’s siblings, Albert Eugene (Ginger) Gibson, of Freemont, MI, Ronald (Sharon) Gibson, of Grant, MI, Jerry (Katie) Gibson, of Cape Carol, Florida, and Judy (Forrest) Herzog, of Six Lakes, MI; one son-in-law, Steve Opp, of Stockbridge, MI; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Fowler Sr.; a daughter, Susan Fowler Opp; and two brothers, Raymond A. Peterson and James “Jim” Peterson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at The Church of the Gentle Shepherd, 124 Bridge Street, Six Lakes, Michigan 48886, with Pastor Robert “Bob” Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10 am to 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Church of the Gentle Shepherd in Six Lakes, Michigan.
