Mark Draves was our farm's farrier for many years. He was skilled, personable, patient with young horses, a great guy. We miss him. __Larry and Barbara Ward, Mashallah Arabians

I will never forget all the laughs I have had with Mr. Mark. I worked many jobs with him, he worked on a few of my horses and I actually got a ball python from him a while back, Herman is still living his best life and loved beyond measure. my heart goes out to the family, all my love sent for you Ms. Mel <3

My thoughts and prayers to entire family. I have some very fond and funny memories of my teenage years with this man. We got into so much trouble. I can’t share most of the memories because mark and I would be much too embarrassed. Lol
Rest In Peace my loved cousin.

Q: What will you never forget about Mark?
A: I will not forget, ever, that we liked each other from the start. When I very first met him and Mel, they had just arrived after a long haul with their horses from Michigan to Arizona. The three of us bonded pretty quickly with Mark being like a brother from the start. He looked out for me, checked in on me and made me laugh so hard at some of his stories. I felt like I had known him long before we actually met. I miss you buddy. Give ‘em hell up there!

There are so many memories of Mark over all the years. From rowdy young adult to husband and father, to watching him and Dave play softball together. I can say that Mark was one of a few people that Dave called "brother" that I felt the same way about. I would not have been able to get through Dave's passing if it hadn't been for Mark. Anytime I was having a bad day, I could talk to him and he always seemed to know what to say to make me grin, or we would just cry together.
I was so happy when he said they were coming back to Michigan and I told him the first thing I was going to do was give him a big hug and then cry! Mark replied, "me too".
I want Mel and the girls to know I am here for them, to cry, to talk, to just be a shoulder to lean on.
Love ya, Mark.
Niecer.
