Katerina Grace Daignault, known to her loved ones as Katie, was born June 9, 1994 in Bay City, Michigan and was called home on May 12, 2023 in Essexville, Michigan, she was 28 years of age. Katie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sandra Daignault, and grandfathers, Robert Daignault, and Carl Faught. She is survived by her parents, Douglas Daignault and Heather Taylor (Ricky Cassidy), her sister Jillian Singleton (Terrence), step-siblings Rickey Taylor Jr (Nikki), Allen Taylor (Tiffany), and Vanessa Taylor, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Katie was a creative and inspiring individual who loved to express herself through crafting. She enjoyed many disciplines of creation and spent most of her free time volunteering for “Crafts with Katie” hour, designing for her small business Katie’s D-zines, and staying active in the crafting community. She is described by her community of friends as being spunky, smart, brave, and uplifting. There was never a bad day that lasted long with Katie around. Her joyous attitude and happy disposition always left one in a better mood. Katie will be greatly missed by all and not a day will go by when her spirit won’t be guiding her village to new elevations of joy.
At this time there will be an intimate gathering of the immediate family to celebrate the life of Katie and they ask for understanding during this difficult loss. Howevere, in lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions, donations can be made in Katie’s memory to the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute to support the Proton Therapy Pediatric Research Fund.
