Obituary of Jennifer Ann Clements
Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jennifer Ann (Coyle) Clements, “Jenny”, age 76, died on May 14, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Midland from complications of septic shock and after experiencing several years dealing with chronic health issues. She is free from this now. Jenny was born to the late Charles Michael Coyle and Lorraine Clara (Schaeding) Coyle on July 27, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated as the salutatorian from St. Joseph High School in 1964, and was formerly married to Ralph Clements, and together they had three sons, Peter, John, and David.
Jenny started working in the banking industry in Saginaw in 1975 at First State Bank, then National Bank of Detroit, and finally retired from PNC Bank in 2009. She received an associate degree in Business Studies in Financial Institution Management from Delta College in 1987. Jenny was proud that she was one of the first female loan officers and vice presidents of a bank in Saginaw during her career. During this time, she was also a mentor with Junior Achievement for several years.
Jenny never came across a book she didn’t read and could breeze through all kinds of novels in a matter of hours. Her Kindles were filled. Hopefully, Amazon can stay in business now that they are losing her as a customer. Her favorite things were reading a good book while basking in the sun on her patio in the summer, or reading a good book while snuggled under a blanket in the winter. She also tended to a small garden outside her apartment and enjoyed watching the birds come to her feeder. Jenny received so much joy from her community of friends at Woodland Place Apartments in Midland, MI, and also from the office staff, and especially the maintenance folks (she talked about you often!) who routinely checked in on her. We thank you for your kindness toward our mom.
Apart from over 1,000 books on her TWO Kindles, Jenny leaves her three sons, Peter (Diane) Clements of Kawkawlin, MI, John (Jennifer) Clements of Ludington, MI, and David Clements of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as her grandchildren, Shalane (Ryan) Nelson and their daughter Grace, George Bartz and his fiancé Tabytha DelCid and her daughter Kia DelCid, Andrew Clements and his fiancé Mariah Jackson -MJ, Joshua (Emily) Ratledge and their sons Cameron and Anthony, and Jordan (Rachel) Clements. Words cannot even begin to describe how much she cherished her grandkids, even though she routinely told some of them that they “were cruisin’ for a bruisin’!” You know who you are. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ralph (Sharon) Zimmermann, as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her life-long elementary school friends Mary LaFray and Sandy Smith who she still turned to for wonderful friendships throughout her entire life. She always looked forward to your get-togethers and loved you both so much. Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles Coyle, and sisters Joan (Pat) Munholland and Mary Ellen Zimmermann.
In accordance with Jenny’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral or memorial service. She will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan next to her parents. To remember Jenny in your own way we encourage you to read your favorite book, bask in the sun for a bit, plant some flowers, or reach out to an old friend.
