Obituary of Michael James McRoberts

Michael James McRoberts, was born at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland Michigan on March 9, 1987 to Tracy Fuhrman (Acklin) and James McRoberts.   On May 13, 2023, Michael, age 36, passed away peacefully at his family home in Midland, after a short battle with liver and kidney failure surrounded by loved ones.

Michael was predeceased by his grandmother, Roseanna McRoberts; his grandmother, Sharon Britt; and his grandfather, Michael Dickinson. He is survived by his children, Avaya Ortwein age 15, Anthony James McRoberts age 12, and Alyssa Lynn McRoberts age 10. Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Tracy and Richard Fuhrman; his father, James McRoberts; and his five siblings, Jessica Fuhrman Hoggard, Joshua Acklin, Robert Acklin (Lindsay Flood), Matthew Acklin, and Autumn Burton (Nowaczyk). Michael had many nieces and nephews, including Isaiah, Caleb, Amelia, Daxton, and Amara.

Michael obtained a G.E.D and continued his education, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Saginaw Valley State University. He is best remembered for his love of cooking. He often found himself cooking for others, including his grandmother who was his favorite to cook for. He obtained his serv safe certification and excelled as a lead chef in any kitchen environment.  Michael had a taste and passion for learning different customs and traditions of the world, and finding new ways to share them with everyone. He found great interest in different religious practices.  Other hobbies included gardening, live music, and history.
