Samuel James Villegas, age 26, formerly of Bay City, Michigan, passed away on May 15, 2023. He was born on June 20, 1996 in Bay City, Michigan to Paulino Villegas and Lenora Schmitter. He graduated from Bay City Central High School in Bay City, Michigan in 2014, and furthered his education at MMI in Phoenix, Arizona, where he graduated in 2018. Sam is a descendant of the Swan Creek Black River Band of Chippewa Indians; and was proud of his Hispanic heritage. He was a proud daddy to Sofia, who was and will always be, the pride and joy of his world, he loved every minute he spent with her. He was a technician at Harley Davidson in both Bay City, and Flint, Michigan. Sam was only one class away from becoming a Master Technician. He really enjoyed working and riding motorcycles. Some of Sam's other hobbies he loved included anything Star Wars, snowmobiling, fishing, working out, gaming, family and friends. Sam was active in the Harley Davidson community and conspiracy theories, he was always prepared for the zombie apocalypse.
Sam is survived by a daughter, Sofia N. Villegas; father, Paulino M. (June) Villegas; mom, Lenora Schmitter; grandmother/wella, Jesusa “Chita” Mata Villegas; grandfather, Bruce C. Munroe; grandmother, Marie A. Munroe; sisters, Alexandra M. Hartman (Brian), Autumn Rose Schmitter, and Taylor M. Villegas; brother, Carl J. Villegas; nephews, Brandon L. Hartman and Braxton A. Hartman; nieces, Bella M. Hartman and Becca C. Hartman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sam was preceded in death by grandfather/wello, Jose F. Villegas; grandpa, Albert L. Schmitter; grandma, Wanda Schmitter; uncle/tio, Jose M. Villegas; aunts, Tamera L. Proffit, Alice Moore, and Fay Hester.
