Obituary of Janine Hignite

Janine R. Hignite, age 63, of Midland, Michigan passed away on Saturday May 27, 2023 after a long courageous battle with COPD. She passed away at MidMichigan Medical Center of Midland surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 5, 1959 to the late Arthur and Thelma Hignite in Bay City, Michigan.

She enjoyed her family, nature, and going camping. She also loved spending time up north in East Jordan. She was an avid animal lover and an animal rights advocate.  She spent most of her career working at the Arnold Center, working with mentally and physically disabled clients. She took a lot of pride in her work and really cared for her clients.

She is survived by her son, Shane Laney (Courtney Lutz); sister, Sharon Hignite; brothers, Randy and Max Hignite; grandchildren, Jordan Laney and Logan Lutz; and niece, Michelle (Jason) Haydon. She was preceded in death by her brother, Duane Hignite; nephew, Dale Hignite; and her best friend, Lucy.
