Obituary of Thomas White

Thomas Herron White, born April 24,1940 in Delaware, Ohio, died June 13, 2023 in Dewitt, Michigan, at the age of 83.  Tom is survived by his daughter, Deanna (White) Sullivan and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Ian (Alyson), Niall, and Lochlan; his son, Forrest “Woody” White and his wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Grant, Kennedy, and Carter. 

Whitey was bigger than life, literally, and was always the life of the party - first to arrive and last to leave.  Big Tom sold beer in Lansing for 20 plus years, owned and operated a no-tell motel in Dewitt, and then sold school bus parts across the state of Michigan for another 20 plus years out of his home in Eagle, Michigan.  Not many could be considered a bigger fan of his beloved MSU.  Legend has it that Tom's likeness was used for the drawing of Gruff Sparty. Tom loved to play golf and ruined some greens at the Portland Country Club among many others. He will be missed but remembered as a fun-loving gentle giant with an infectious smile.  A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.  In the meantime, raise a glass in his honor, nothing would make him happier!
