Obituary of Barbara Ann Engerer

Barbara Ann Engerer was born on November 9, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan and passed away at the age of 87 on June 16, 2023 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center in Saginaw.  She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley John Graham and Mary Leticia Graham Stimpson; her brothers, Richard Graham, Stanley “Bud” Graham, William Graham and David Graham; and former husband, Allen Engerer. 

Barb is survived by her three children, Carol (Danny) Dodge of Dana Point CA, Daniel (Pam) Engerer of Silver Lake OH and Dennis (Linda Williams) Engerer of Crowley TX;  grandchildren, Nick Engerer of New South Wales Australia, Jeff (Amanda) Engerer of Cedar Crest NM, Kate Engerer of Concord NC, Matt (Paige) Dodge of Dana Point CA, and Bobby (Kat Bony) Dodge of Denver CO;  sisters-in law, Patricia Graham, Dorothy Graham, Aloha Graham, and Sherry Graham; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Barb began her working career as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell in Saginaw, and later worked for the Saginaw hospitals as a switchboard operator.  When the family moved to Frankenmuth, she was a bank teller for Frankenmuth Savings.  Barb also worked as a hospital switchboard operator in Arlington TX after the family relocated there. Later, Barb spent many years in California to help her daughter and son-in-law while their children were young.  After returning to Saginaw in retirement, Barb enjoyed working at the Antique Warehouse. 

 

Barb was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport for many years, where she sang in the church choir.  She loved crossword puzzles, reading, and playing Nintendo games with her grandchildren when they were young. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. 
 

The family would like to thank the staff of Edgewood Assisted Living and Cardinal Hospice for the loving compassionate care they gave Barb during her final years.
