Obituary of Calvin Joel Knapp

Calvin J. “Smoke” Knapp, age 84, of Midland Michigan, passed away June 21, 2023.  He was born June 26, 1938 in Midland Michigan to the late Joel L. and Clarissa J. (Ross) Knapp. He was a member of both the Sanford American Legion and the Sanford Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards.

He is survived by his daughters, Tina (Richard) Gates and Shelly (Jeffery) Hitsman; son, Calvin (Jodi) Knapp; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara J. (Hoyt) Knapp; children, Robin D. Barnum and Cleon P. Knapp; granddaughter, Jessica R. Barnum; brothers, Andy, Albert, and Lenord Knapp; sisters Jenette Krotzer, Cora Jones, Philiss Goodemoot, Pamela St. John, Barbara Iafrate, and Loretta Conklin.
