Obituary of Georgia Lea Downing

Georgia L. Downing, age 84 of Caro, Michigan, passed away on June 24, 2023.  She was born on October 26, 1938 to Norm and Frances Alderfer.  She married the late Allen Downing on June 14, 1957.

She enjoyed going to the race track, family, and grandchildren. She volunteered her time at the elementary school where her grandchildren attended.

 

She is survived by her son, Terry and his wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Jack (Sara) Dempsey, Jessica Dempsey, Josh (Kayla) Downing, Kyle (Karina) Downing, Josh (Erica) LaPan, Jade Gibson, Chelsey (Joshua) O’Connell, Jonathan Verhelle, Jeremy Verhelle, Jacob Verhelle, and Jaclyn Verhelle; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Allen; daughter, Brenda; and great-grandchild, Isaiah. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
