Merl Howard Ludington, age 70, of Flint, Michigan passed away on July 12, 2023. He was born on March 11,1953 to the late David & Nettie (Young) Ludington in Goodrich, Michigan. In 1971, he was president of the Lapeer Chapter of Future Farmers of America, which cultivated him to become a hippie with a green thumb for 50 years. Family was the most important thing to him. He loved to hunt, fish, play cards and gamble any chance he could.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jill (Bartley) Ludington; daughters, Christine (Rocko) Parker, Katie (Brent Mars) Ludington; bonus daughters, Kathryn (Mike) Pertler and Becky Bombe; grandchildren, Spencer (Kelsey) Parker, Grant (Sam) Parker, and Baleigh McCullough; brothers, John (Sharon) Ludington, John (Dawn) Bartley II, and Jeff Bartley; nephews, Randy Snyder Jr., Kevin Bock, James (Bri) Bartley, Joshua (Pamela) Bartley, and Jordan (Kaitlin & baby) Bartley; niece, Josie (Tim) Ludington and their children, Hunter and Summer; several cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his son, Merl “Murphy” Ludington; siblings, David Ludington, Lillian (Jeff) Bock, and Bertha (Pete) Ney.
The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life from 1:00-5:00 pm, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Hadley Township Hall, 3551 Hadley Rd., Hadley, MI 48440, with Pastor Jon Bauldry officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Merl’s request for Memorial Contributions to Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma or for any childhood cancer association of the donor's choice.
