Obituary of Wendell Clare Pafford

Wendell Pafford, of Bay City, age 97, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Aleda E. Lutz Veterans Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan, after a period of declining health. Wendell was born August 5, 1926, to the late Russel and Gladys Pafford. He was united in marriage to Donna Shannon on July 30, 1949.

Wendell and Donna worked side by side at the State Park Driving Range and par 3 golf course for 35 years, as well as his career as a cost accountant. He was a devout Methodist. He was a fan of all sports, especially golf. He was skilled at home and auto repair. He took great pride in building his home and garden.

Wendell is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Pam Hall (Jerry), Rodney Pafford (Sandy), and Janet Pafford; grandsons, Alistair (Liz), Austin Pafford, and Addison Pafford; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Claire, Madaline, and Noah.

A committal service will be held at 9:00 a.m., August 11, 2023, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan, with a Celebration of Life following at 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 206 Scheurmann St., Essexville Michigan.
