Obituary of Yvonne Christine Husocki

Yvonne C. “Mimi” Husocki, age 69, of Montrose Michigan, passed away peacefully August 3, 2023, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family after a 2 year courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma.

Yvonne was born June 29,1954 in Flint, Michigan to the late Harold & Jeanette Young. She graduated from Carmen Ainsworth and soon thereafter, married the love of her life, Tony Husocki in 1972 and they spent 51 years together. Yvonne was known for her selfless nature and putting the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her 3 grandsons. Family was of the utmost importance to her. Yvonne was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Flushing, Michigan.

Yvonne is survived by her husband Tony; daughter, Darla Sumner; son, Mike  Husocki; 3 grandsons, Matthew & Joshua Husocki, and Austin Sumner;

2 sisters, Michele & husband Jim Washburn, and Pam & husband Mike Kingsley;

2 special nieces, Lauren & husband Brandon Covell and Kayla & husband Matt Ross; and many other relatives to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her “Pops”, Harold Young; father-in-law, Steve Husocki; and mother-in-law, Betty Husocki.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 26, 2023, 18640 Gratiot Rd., Merrill Michigan 48637, with a luncheon to follow.
