Obituary of David Kurt Persicke

David Kurt Persicke, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 26, 2023. He was born to Lucille and Kurt Persicke June 15, 1944 in Saginaw, MI.  He graduated from Saginaw High School and served in the United States Air Force.  David celebrated 55 years of marriage with his lifelong partner Kenda. David was involved and served on the James Twp. Fire Dept and enjoyed playing cards at the Moose and Eagles Clubs in town for years.  He always did well in cards because you could never tell when he was bluffing.

David is survived by wife Kenda; daughters, Jill and Jodi (Brian); grandchildren, Jacob (Mary Jo), Jonathan, Lauren, Ella and Claire; brother, Phil Persicke (Jackie); sisters, Nancy Marko (Bob) and Cindy Priem (Bill). 

Family was the most important to David as he was present and a daily part of his families lives.  If you were lucky enough to know this man, you were blessed.  David never missed a child or grandchild's game, dance recital or special event.  Family meant the world to him and he meant the world to his family.  David was a natural mentor and teacher as many looked to him for his wisdom and advice in everything imaginable.  David made friends easily and got along with everyone. If something needed to be fixed, he was the one to go to.  David had a unique and infectious laugh that we all loved.  Known for his love of cooking, he was known for his famous blueberry cheesecake and orange fluff at gatherings.  David loved history and would spend hours on the computer researching. 

The kindness and generosity shown by David were things that made him so special.  His generosity will certainly be missed by the casinos here in MI.  A good sense of humor is something else that he was known for!
