Obituary of Cindy Sue Scott

Cindy Sue Scott of West Branch, Michigan, passed away at home surrounded by family on August 28, 2023 at the age of 61. She was born on December 22, 1961 to the late Robert and Joyce Steinhurst, in Mason, Michigan.

Cindy graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1980. After high school she worked in downtown West Branch at Fashions ‘n Things. She then began working in the Treasurer’s Office for Ogemaw County, where she worked for 37 years until her retirement in 2022. She especially enjoyed her last few years of work with her coworkers. Cindy will be remembered as an incredible wife, mother, and friend who loved her friends and family deeply. She enjoyed camping in East Tawas, gardening, crafting with her friends, baking, and spending time with her family.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 27 years, Gregory; daughter, Taylor (Antonio) Escamilla; and son, Thomas (Olivia Boyd) Scott. She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby (Liz) Steinhurst, Jeff (Cheryl) Steinhurst, and Mark Steinhurst. She will be deeply missed by many other family members and close friends. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.

As per Cindy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family or a donation can be made in Cindy’s memory to the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
