Joan Marie Wrubel of Filion, Michigan passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on September 4, 2023 at the age of 77. She was born on March 12, 1946, daughter of the late Edwin and Edna (Wisneski) Sosnoski. Joan graduated from North Huron High School, Kinde in 1964. She and Dennis Wrubel were united in marriage on October 21, 1967 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kinde, Michigan, and were married for 55 years. Joan loved working with people, visiting, laughing and crying with the customers and co-workers for many years at the same location with different companies. She was employed for many years with Monsanto, Sohigro Service Company, Terra International, Bio-Ag of Michigan and Midwestern Bio-Ag in Kinde. Joan also worked at the Kinde Post Office as a PMR. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Joan always said, "We had one daughter we loved, but these grandchildren are very special and loved." Joan is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Kari (Wrubel) Schweigert; and son-in-law, Justin. She had three wonderful grandchildren, Jacob Dennis, Katelyn Maxine and Allison Marie; one brother, Ken (Kate) Sosnoski of Port Austin and Florida; one sister, Audrey (Jerry) Lawrence of Kinde; a very special life-long friend, Marie Cook of Bad Axe; one sister-in-law, Delcy Boike; a brother-in-law, Steve Sump; many nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Edna Sosnoski; grandparents, Michael and Mary Sosnoski and Andrew and Agnes Wisneski; one sister, Maxine Sump; two step-brothers, Don and Joe McIntyre; in-laws, Frank and Tillie Wrubel; brother-in-law, Edward (Bud) Boike; and many aunts, uncles, friends and cousins. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joan's life will be a funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church at a later date.
