Passed away on September 11, 2023 at 100 years of age.  She was born on February 15, 1923, the only child of the late Roy V. and Olga Hillert Andrus in Saginaw. 

She graduated from Saginaw High School and the Saginaw Business Institute, working in several offices in Saginaw and Syracuse, NY.  Later, she became an Interior Designer, working with the family business, Raymond Products Co., and for twenty years with Feige’s Interiors in Saginaw.

Upon retiring, she moved to Sugarmill Woods in Homosassa, FL and enjoyed sunshine, golf, bridge and friends.  Through friends, she met Gilbert MacDonald of Needham, MA and they were married in 1996. 

Marge was a dedicated member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 60 years, serving as Chapter president in both AH, Saginaw and GH, FL.  She was on the board of P.E.O. Michigan State Chapter for seven years, serving as state president in 1979. 

She had been a lifelong and active member of the Lutheran Church; a current member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Bay City. 

She is survived by two daughters, Janet L. (Herman) Barber and Susan L. (Richard) Smith, both of Bay City.  She is survived by two granddaughters, Amy S. (Patrick) Ankenbruck, Matthews, NC and Catherine Tolley of Lowell, IN and four great grandchildren, Nathan Ankenbruck (fiancée Maddie Colvin), Rebecca Ankenbruck, Emily Mackey and Abigail Mackey.  She is also survived by Gil’s children, Susan Entwistle and Doug (Marge) MacDonald.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald G. Longworth and husband Gilbert MacDonald. 

Marge’s family is grateful for the loving care and concern provided by staff and management of Sheffield Bay, her home for the past twelve years.  Also, the special care and assistance received from Kristin and Amanda of Americans Hospice Care. 

A celebration of Marge’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider the Program for Continuing Education through the P.E.O.
