JoEllyn L Pedota passed away on September 15, 2023 at the age of 76. She was born on October 8, 1946 to the late Robert and Evelyn (Peugh) Lawson in Illinois.  JoEllyn was a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed researching genealogy with her library buddies.  She raised three strong daughters as well as numerous puppies for Kimberlan Kennel.  She worked at Ark Animal Hospital, Independent Bank and Standish Township over the years.  She kept busy knitting washcloths while watching her beloved Chicago Bears and Cubs, and was always up for a road trip to watch her grandkids, no matter which sport or activity they were involved in.  Her garden was her special place and she believed the only weed was something growing where you didn't want it.  She was especially proud of her pumpkin patch this year.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph A Pedota; daughters, Jennifer (John) Rezler, Jennine (Scott) Muxlow, and Jessica (Michael) Thering; grandchildren, Jacinda (Robert) Roest, Joseph Rezler, Brian Thering, Caitlin Thering, and Evelyn Muxlow; sister, Marilyn Lawson; and niece, Jamie (Mike) Rudder. She was predeceased by her sister, Juli (Rudder) Muchowski.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Pine River Golf Club, 2244 Pine River Road, Standish MI 48658. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm prior to the service, with a light luncheon to follow.  Interment will be held at a later date at Pine River Cemetery.
