Obituary of Ruth Ann Desonia

Ruth Ann Desonia, age 80, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family. Ruth was born September 27, 1943 to John and Margaret (Clark) Leach in Saginaw, Michigan. She lived most of her life in St. Charles, Michigan, but the last seven, living on a small lake next to her sister and brother-in-law. She had a partner in life, Terry “Sarge” Sargent, for over 40 years. Together, they above all, loved to gather with friends and family and leave behind many cherished memories.  Ruth was a registered nurse who became close to many patients and co-workers. Ruth loved to read, play scrabble, garage sale, go for rides, and spoil her dogs.

Family with cherished memories include her sister, Rose (Bob) Fedewa; son, Joe (Liz) Desonia; granddaughters, Tiffany Harrison (Trevor Dawkins), Paige Desonia, and Carmen (Noah) Fuller; great-granddaughter, Lydia Mayer; nephews, Russell (Ann) Boquette and Mike Boquette; niece, Jenni (Sam) Atalla; cousin, Don Clark; and many dear friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 1 PM, Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Bad River Bar and Grill, 103 N. Saginaw St., St. Charles MI 48655. There will be tacos, soda, and shared memories.  In lieu of Flowers, Ruth would prefer that you use that money to take a loved one to lunch, we never know how much time we have.
