Obituary of Grenetta Denise Johnson

Grenetta Denise Johnson “Tinky”, age 61, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at home with her daughters, following a battle with cancer.

Grenetta was born in Saginaw, Michigan on August 30, 1962, to Elwood Jr. and Evelyn (Ware) Johnson.  She received her GED and attended Job Corp.  Grenetta loved writing poems and reading books. She loved her family and was always the life of the party.

Grenetta’s memory will live on in her three daughters, Jasmin, Tyisha, and BriAunna Johnson, all of Saginaw Michigan; her two sons Jaymar Johnson of Arizona and Skyler Cohen of Las Vegas, NV. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Rae’Aunna, Rae’Quin, Nailah, Jamariya, Jaymar Jr. and Jayce, Jaylen and Javonte: two great-grandchildren, Yasmin and Gianni; her sister, Barbette (Lee) Cole, of Southfield, MI; brother, Elwood Johnson III; and a host of family and friends will cherish memories of her. Grenetta was preceded in death by her mother, father, and favorite uncle, Willie Ware “Jug”.
