Obituary of Jane Elizabeth Major

Jane Elizabeth Major, age 90, of Vassar Michigan and formerly of Troy Michigan, passed away Saturday, October, 28, 2023 at her home in Vassar Township, Michigan, surrounded by her family.

 

Jane was, born on February 21, 1933 to George Clare Andrew and Hazel Bernice Mead.  She married her husband, Robert Major on January 29, 1952, and they shared 44 years of marriage. Jane’s favorite pastimes over the years were attending Bingo with her friends, reading, and watching gameshows on TV.  

 

Jane leaves behind seven children, Kim (Daryl) Hartline of Goodrich, MI, Terry (Curt) Schroeder of Warren, MI, Cindy Poche Fort Pierce, FL, Robert Major of Colorado, Carol (Mike) Kiernicki of Southside, Alabama, Donald Major of Kimball MI, and Thomas (Cindy) Major of Vassar, MI; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Major, on December 9, 1996; her parents; two brothers, Donald Andrew and James Andrew; a sister, Marjorie Andrew; and two nephews and two nieces.

 

After cremation, interment will take place next to her husband at Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Rochester Hills Michigan.
