My Dad, Larry Groat became a Mason in the early 1950’s at Farmington Lodge 151, about the same time Wayne became at member at Farmington. We lived in Farmington at the time. A few years later, 1955, we moved to Redford and I became a DeMoley at Redford Lodge 152 and later became a Life Member. After a pause in my activity with the Masons, I knocked on Farmington’s Lodge door in 2008. Wayne invited me in and helped me to become a member of Farmington Lodge 151. With Wayne’s guidance, I progressed through the chairs and became Worshipful Master. Wayne soon became my mentor and guide in Masonry and life. Under his tutelage I was able to become a member of Dearborn Scottish Rite, Northville York Rite, Council, and Commandry. I deeply regret that I never asked my Dad to become a Mason before he passed away in 1995, and so missed the opportunity to share these experiences with him. Fortunately, Wayne became a Dad to me and I Loved Wayne like a son Loves his Dad. Thank you Wayne for all your Love and guiding support. I’m happy to believe you are finally at peace with your Mary.
