Obituary of Marvin Leroy Basner

Basner, Marvin L., age 68, of Clio, Michigan passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his home with his loved ones at his side. Marvin was born on January 15, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Nelson “Duke” and Madge “Katie” (Irish) Basner.

Marvin is survived by two daughters, Madge (Brandon) Rayl of Clio, Michigan, and Leslie Hildebrandt of Saginaw, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren, Janelle Hauk, Ronald LaCount, Tessa McMeans, Hannah Rayl, Emma (Tyler) Bickhart, Alicia Rayl, Anna Jo (Logan) Boles, Elizabeth Krugielki, Noah VanBuren, Terrence Krugielki Jr., Kailee Rayl, Jayce Rayl, and Jack Hildebrandt; four great-grandchildren, Addyson Collis, Emerson Hauk, Aspen Ridgeway, and Nathaniel Bickhart; two sisters, JoAnn Nalewyko of Clio, Michigan and Darlene Livingston-Pierce of Clio, Michigan; five brothers, Nelson (Sue) Basner of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Tom (Karen) Basner of Birch Run, Michigan, Robert (Connie) Basner of Birch Run, Michigan, David (Cynthia) Basner of Tawas City, Michigan, and Randy (Ginger) Basner of Tallahassee, Florida; son-in-law Terrence (Crystal) Krugielki Sr.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marvin was preceded in death by his only son, Ronald Lewis Basner; his parents, Nelson “Duke” and Madge “Katie” (Irish) Basner; one brother, Mark Basner; one sister, Barbara Jean Basner; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Nalewyko and Michael Livingston.

Marvin’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Marvin’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers with Heart to Heart Hospice for their exceptional loving care.

Honoring Marvin’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
