Obituary of Betty Joann Mott

Betty, age 84, passed away on November 11, 2023.  She was born on September 20, 1939 to the late Russ and Elizabeth Fowler, in Saginaw, Michigan.

She was a member of the K.C. Ladies Auxiliary and Holy Spirit Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, walking, bowling, going to the casino, camping and traveling, going out to eat, Disneyworld, knitting, and church.  She was active with the Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James Mott; grandchildren, Melissa Near, Kevin Near, Shawn (Leon) Morford, Jason Irish, and Justin Fiting; step-daughters, Deb Mott and Lynn (Dave) McDougall; and great-grandchildren, Austin Rayner, Lucas Morford, Shelby Morford, and Abby and Brooklyn Irish.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Dawn Near and Cindy Reeves; a grandson, Shane Reeves; and a granddaughter, Megan Reeves.  

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., December 4, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, Michigan, with Father Peter Gaspeny officiating. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  A luncheon to follow the mass. Interment will take place at Saint Andrews Cemetery at a later date.
