Glen, age 74, passed away November 24, 2023. He was born October 27, 1949, to the late Wayne and Joyce (Dinius) Stiegemeier in Big Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1968, where he was a member of the baseball, football and basketball teams. As a member of the United States Air Force, he served for 4 years. Glen graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Education.
He enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with friends. He also enjoyed going to the casino with his late wife, Christine. Glen loved watching the Michigan State Spartans and the Detroit Lions play football. He was a very talented karaoke singer and DJ at The Green Parrot in Chesaning, MI. He was a proud member of the Fordney Club which supports youth academics and sports in Saginaw County. Glen always had a positive outlook on life and wore his heart on his sleeve. He was a cheerful, kind and loving man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his son, Scott (Danielle) Stiegemeier; step-son, John (Shane) Whittier, Jr.; step-daughter, Bobbie L (Brett) Stasa; grandchildren, Zachary Amman, Hannah Stasa, Savannah, Raylan and Emily Stiegemeier, and great-grandson, Jackson Amman. Also surviving are his siblings, John (Linda) Stiegemeier, Randy (Micki), Dan (Kristine), Stan (Connie) Dinius, and Marsha Lalonde; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Becky Barz, and her family, Joshua, Kristen, Amy, Rylinn, Hogan, Hudson, Jayden, Gavriel, Samuel, and Daimon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Christine Stiegemeier; his mother, Joyce Dinius; and his father, Wayne Stiegemeier.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Service at 11 am, December 7, 2023, at Merrill Wesleyan Church, 3765 N. Chapin Rd, Merrill, MI 48637, with Pastor Tim Morris officiating. Visitation will be held at church prior to the service from 10am - 11am, with a luncheon following the service. Interment will take place at 11 AM, December 8, 2023, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, Michigan.
