Rena Maxine Sheehan “Maxine”, age 84, from Bay City, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the Toni & Trish house on December 2, 2023, in Auburn, Michigan.

Maxine was born on February 15, 1939, to the late Melvin and Juanita Ehresman in Lansing Michigan. After her husband passed away, she moved from Atlanta, Georgia back to Bay City Michigan. In those 20 plus years she embraced her passion for helping others by volunteering in her community for the River of Time, Pig Gig, Boat Races, and Fireworks Festival. She also served on the Board of the Bay City Housing Commission.

Maxine is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Troy Marsac (Jennifer) and Trent Marsac (Millie).  She loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and often told them stories from the past. Maxine leaves behind seven grandchildren, Corey Marsac, Melissa Ratliff, Nicholas Leinberger, Miles Marsac, Madison Marsac, Carissa Cook, and Kamiya Cook; and seven great-grandchildren, Brayden Poirier, Maddox Ratliff, Harper Ratliff, Wylan, Collin and Courtlyn Marsac and Jonathan Leinberger. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and countless friends whom she considered family, including special friends Jan Rau and Holly Rivett.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Sheehan; sister, Diane; father of her sons, Arthur Marsac; and friend, Joan Schwab.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Toni and Trish house and all the volunteers and McLaren Hospice Nurses.

At Maxine’s request, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life with friends and family will be held at a later date. At Maxine’s request, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Toni and Trish house.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
