Obituary of Jean Marie Caldwell

Jean passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 94. She was born January 5, 1929 to the late Flossie (Driver) and Malcolm Button in Lansing, Michigan. 

Jean enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She treated everyone with love, and her friends were like family to her, as were her many beloved dogs and other pets. Jean was a talented artist, carving wood, painting, and anything she could save from the trash and make beautiful. Jean was known for making art out of everyday things, as well as for being one of the kindest souls anyone could ever know. Jean enjoyed the simple things in life; puzzles, old game shows, soft music, every bird and flower on earth, plants, and a fresh spring day. 

She is survived by her grandchildren, Khalen Rich (Caldwell) and Jesse Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Mia and Aubrey Platt, and McKinley Caldwell; half-sister, Marjorie “Margie” Button; sisters-in-law, Emma Segar, and Mary (Who) Gruda; as well as nieces and nephews.  She was preceeded in death by her husband, Floyd Caldwell; daughter, Sheila Green (Caldwell); son, Jack Caldwell; brothers, Donald and Jack Button; and sisters, Leona and Dorthy.
