Our loving, silly, kind, and helpful, husband, uncle, and loving father, passed away on December 4, 2023. Charles McDougall was born June 23, 1924 to the late Charles McDougall and Beatrice Allore of Saginaw Michigan.
Charles was high school sweethearts with Mabel Martin, and after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War11, they married and had 5 children. He is survived by Mabel, his wife of 77 years; his children, Lynne Shorkey (Roland), Carol Niven, and Roger McDougall (Linda).
He was predeceased by sons, Gary McDougall and William McDougall; son-in-law, Dennis Niven; five brothers, Ralph, Jack, Robert, Frank, and Kenneth McDougall; five sisters, Lois, June Mary Hozeska, Margaret Ann Weideman, Beatrice Romo, and Shirley Rundell.
Charles retired from Saginaw Steering, and after retirement, moved to Pellston Michigan, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, card games, snowmobiling, and trips to the casino. His cherished memories were his family and friends. He loved each and every one of his 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM, December 14, 2023, Messiah Lutheran Church, 501 S. Catherine St., Bay City, Michigan 48706 The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10 AM – 11 AM. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
